Ingredients
- 1 cup rice
- 2 cups water
- 2 tsp. oil or small amount of water
- 1 tsp. mustard seeds
- 2 chopped red chilies
- 1 tsp. lentils
- 1 tsp. chick peas
- ¼ tsp. turmeric powder
- ½ cup raw peanuts
- 4 tsp. lemon juice
- 2 Tbs. chopped fresh cilantro
- pinch of crushed coriander leaves
- salt to taste
Steps
- Prepare rice in a cooker and set aside.
- Heat oil or water in pan.
- Add mustard seeds and when they start to split, add chilies.
- After 1 minute, add lentils, chick peas, peanuts, and turmeric.
- After 1 minute, or when this mixture becomes brown in color,
add prepared rice to the pan.
- Mix well and add lemon juice, coriander leaves and curry leaves.
- Add salt to taste and mix well.
This is very good with soy yogurt.
