"Katies Karob Kake"


 

Ingredients

  • 3 cups unbleached flour
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. non-aluminum baking powder
  • ¾ cup carob powder
  • ¾ cup soy margarine
  • 2 cups Sucanat®*
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 cups soy milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. Roma®*
  • ½ tsp. maple flavoring

Steps

  • Sift together the flour, salt, baking powder, and carob in one bowl.
  • In separate bowl cream together the Sucanat® and soy margarine.
  • Beat in the water.
  • Alternately add milk and dry ingredients to creamed mixture.
  • Mix thoroughly after each addition.
  • Add vanilla, Roma®, and maple flavoring.
  • Oil and flour a 9”x 13” cake pan. Pour in Batter.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes
    out clean.
