"Fruit Kabobs"

Ingredients

  • 1 large ripe Golden pineapple
  • 4 large apples, cut into chunks
  • 4 large bananas, cut into chunks
  • 1 bunch of large grapes
  • 1 jar of natural cherries [or fresh]
  • 1 package of medium length
       wooden skewers

Steps

  • Wash the outside of the pineapple and pat dry. Cut it in half length way. Save the ends.
  • Place one half of the pineapple face down on a platter. Cut the other half into bite size chunks.
  • Cut the bananas and apples into chunks, drizzle with lemon juice to keep them from turning dark.
  • Place fruit chunks on the skewers alternating between the apples, bananas and grapes. Repeating the steps until you are about 3 inches from the end.
  • Turn the skewer and place a cherry on the top of the flat end and place the sharp end into the pineapple.
  • Continue filling the skewers until you have enough on your pineapple.
  • Place the leaves of the pineapple on each end of the pineapple that is on the platter for a decoration.

Now you have an edible centerpiece that children love for breakfast or a party!

HINT: If you plan for a larger party, add more fruit so you will have one skewer per person. Other fruit could be watermelon, strawberries, melons, etc.
