Ingredients
- 1 cup chick peas
- 4 cups water
- 2 chopped onions
- ½ tsp. cumin powder
- 1 inch grated ginger
- ½ tsp. coriander seeds
- ½ tsp. turmeric powder
- 2 tsp. ground red chili powder
- 1 med. chopped tomato
- 1 tsp. Garam Masala powder
- salt to taste
Steps
- Soak chick peas overnight , and pressure cook for two whistles or use canned chick peas.
- Heat a small amount of water to sauté the onions in.
- Add cumin seeds, ginger, coriander powder, and chili powder.
- Sauté for a couple of minutes or until brown.
- Add tomato and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked chick peas, garam masala powder, salt, and cook on low for 10-15 minutes.
- Garnish with green chilies and green coriander or parsley leaves, sliced onion and sliced limes.
- Serve with Rotis.
