8 Laws of Health / Water
Ah, “Adam’s Ale”. After the oxygen that we breathe, there is nothing more essential to our survival than water. We can survive only a few days without it. It quenches the thirst better than any soft drink. We do take in a certain amount of water from our food, however, we do lose a certain amount through breathing, perspiration, urine and feces production. We need to take in enough water to compensate for these losses, and if possible , a little more. The best time to drink water is 15 to 30 minutes before meals and not during. By doing so, water increases stomach volume, makes it contractions more difficult, and dilutes gastric juices, all of which slows down digestion. Let’s drink an extra glass of water today…for our bodies sake!
